The State of Qatar has expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the explosion that took place Sunday in central Somalia and left a Somali official and three of his guards dead.

In a statement issued Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm stance on rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of the motives and causes.

The statement expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to the victims' families and to the government and people of Somalia, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
