Qatar Condemns in the Strongest Terms Israeli Statements on the Displacement of Gaza Residents

Doha - Media and Communication Department - January 04, 2024

The State of Qatar condemns in the strongest terms the statements made by the Ministers of Finance and National Security of the Israeli occupation government regarding the forced displacement of the residents of Gaza, the reoccupation of the Strip and the building of settlements. It also considers these statements an extension of the occupation's approach in violating the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, a contempt for international laws and agreements, and its toxic attempts to block the way to peace opportunities, especially the two-states solution.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that the policy of collective punishment and forced displacement practiced by the occupation authorities against the residents of Gaza will not change the fact that Gaza is Palestinian land, and will remain Palestinian. The Ministry stresses in this context the need for the international community to line up with determination to confront the extremist and provocative policies of the Israeli occupation, in order to avoid the continuation of the cycle of violence in the region and its expansion to the world.

The Ministry reiterates that the only guarantee for achieving sustainable peace in the Middle East is to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, in accordance with the Arab initiative and the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent and viable state of Palestine on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, and giving the Palestinian people their inalienable rights.
