The State of Qatar welcomed today the agreement to form a new Government of National Unity in the Republic of South Sudan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed in a statement today, its hope that the agreement will serve as a foundation for peace and security in South Sudan, and will realize the hopes of the people for stability, development, and prosperity.

The statement expressed the State of Qatar's appreciation for the regional and international efforts that helped reach a deal.
