Qatar Strongly Condemns Settlers Storming Al-Aqsa Mosque

Doha - Information Office - August 07

The State of Qatar expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of the storming of dozens of settlers in the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses that these provocative practices are part of continuous attempts to change the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and to advance the temporal division of the mosque, and warns that simultaneous provocations with the new Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip would lead to a dangerous escalation and waves of violence.

The ministry calls on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities towards Jerusalem and its sanctities and to deter the occupations attempts to turn the conflict into a religious war.

The ministry reiterates the State of Qatar's firm position on the justice of the Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
