The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the bombing of a mosque in an Afghan army base in the southeastern province of Khost, causing dozens of deaths and injuries.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm position rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of motives and reasons.

It stressed Qatar's total rejection of targeting places of worship and intimidating civilians.

The statement expressed condolences of the State of Qatar to the victims' families, the government and the people of Afghanistan, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
