The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the attack that targeted a military base in Helmand province, southern Afghanistan, killing and injuring soldiers.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm position rejecting violence and terrorism, whatever the motives and reasons.

The statement expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to the victims' families, the government and people of Afghanistan, wishing the injured to a speedy recovery.
