Qatar Congratulate Sudan on Signing the Constitutional Document

The State of Qatar has congratulated the sisterly Republic of the Sudan and the Sudanese people on the official signing of the constitutional document under the auspices of the African Union and with the tireless efforts of the friendly Republic of Ethiopia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement Saturday that signing the document was the result of the struggle and sacrifices of all the sectors of the Sudanese people, especially the youth who are aspiring for freedom and justice, adding that it also reflects the awareness, of those in charge in Sudan, of the importance of this defining moment in the history of their country as well as the need to uphold the public interest and abide by dialogue.

The statement expressed the State of Qatar's hope that the constitutional document would ensure a true representation of all the Sudanese people in the political process without exclusion of anyone.

It also expressed thanks and appreciation of the State of Qatar for the efforts made by the African Union and the Republic of Ethiopia in bridging the gap between the Sudanese parties and their pivotal role in the formal completion of the signing.

The statement stressed Qatar's firm stance in support of the unity, stability and sovereignty of Sudan.
