The State of Qatar strongly condemned the attack on a military checkpoint of the Egyptian army near El Arish airport in North Sinai, killing and injuring a number of military personnel.

In a statement Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm stance on rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of motives and reasons.

The statement expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to the families of the victims and the Egyptian people, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
