Qatar Condemns Repeated Incursions into Al Aqsa Mosque

Doha / Information Office / March 14

The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the repeated incursions into Al Aqsa Mosque by extremist Israeli religious groups under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that the State of Qatar believes that such a gross provocation to the feelings of one and a half billion Muslims represents a systematic policy of the Israeli occupation forces that supports extremist religious groups, reflecting the racist exploitation of religion in order to pass and justify the agendas of the occupation forces and to change the status quo in the holy city, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and Security Council and international community's decisions on the city of Jerusalem and the rights of Palestinians.

The statement cautioned against the consequences of remaining silent at the Israeli approach that breached all legal and humanitarian frameworks, tried to impose extremist agendas and used religion to justify violating the rights of Palestinians (Muslims and Christians), whether human, historical, legal or religious rights.

The statement added that the State of Qatar joins the Arab League in calling to support the steadfastness of the Palestinians, and also calls on the international community, particularly regional and international actors, to shoulder their legal and humanitarian responsibilities, and to stop the Israeli occupation forces from attacking Islamic and Christian holy sites.
