The State of Qatar condemns in the strongest terms the brutal Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, and considers it a new episode in the chain of horrific occupation crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people, especially women and children.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns of the fading opportunities for peace and the expansion of the cycle of violence due to the provocative Israeli escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories. It also stresses the need for the international community to move urgently to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people, and to oblige Israel to stop its flagrant violations of international law and force it to respect the decisions of international legitimacy.

The Ministry reiterates the firm position of the State of Qatar regarding the justice of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
