Qatar Condemns in the Strongest Terms Settlers' Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Doha - Information Office - 29 May

The State of Qatar Condemns in the strongest terms the settlers' storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and their performance of Talmudic rituals in its courtyards under the protection of the occupation police; considering it a flagrant violation of the international law, a part of the ongoing attempts to change the historical and legal status quo of Al-Aqsa Mosque, an attempt to impose temporal division of the mosque, and a provocation for the feelings of Muslims in the world.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns that the continuation of serious and provocative violations against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque clearly reveals the intention of the occupation to direct the conflict into a religious war. In this context, the Ministry Underlines the need for the international community to move urgently to deter the occupation, and to assume its moral and legal responsibilities towards Jerusalem (Al-Quds) and its holy sites.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates the firm position of the State of Qatar on the justice of the Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
