Qatar Condemns in Strongest Terms Occupation Forces' Closure of Human Rights, Civil Palestinian Institutions

Doha - Information Office - August 18

The State of Qatar condemns in the strongest terms the Israeli occupation forces' closure of human rights and civil institutions in the cities of Ramallah and Al Bireh in the occupied Palestinian territories and the confiscation of their contents, slamming the move as an extension of the occupation's heinous violations against the defenseless Palestinian people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses that the occupation's shutdown of civil institutions active in the fields of human rights, women and children, health, agriculture, research and development clearly reflects its fears of the efforts of these institutions to expose its repeated crimes and relentless efforts to handicap all efforts aimed at restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The ministry reiterates Qatar's firm stance on the just Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
