Ladies and gentlemen,
Today, it pleases me to open the proceedings of the Fourth Session of the Joint Ministerial Committee between the State of Qatar and the brotherly Republic of Turkey. Welcome to this place my brother, Your Excellency Mevlut Cavusoglu-Minister of Foreign Affairs for the brotherly Republic of Turkey, and the accompanying delegation. I wish you a pleasant stay in Doha, and I look forward to following up the achievements that were accomplished during the past session, and to fulfil all that concerns promoting the shared bilateral work between our brotherly nations. I also wish to express my thanks to the brothers responsible for organizing the preparatory meetings for this session in order to prepare and work for the success of this meeting.
Our meeting today comes as the relations between our two brotherly nations have reached a level that can be considered a model in relations among countries in all fields, and that is due to the kind care of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, may God protect him, and His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan-President of the brotherly Republic of Turkey, who invites us in light of what our region and the world is facing in terms of difficulties and challenges to seek and to continue to develop and promote these relations which have grown and deepened for decades, between our brotherly countries and peoples. Despite the complexity of cooperation between our two countries in various fields, we look forward to strengthening them in a way that reflects the nature and essence of the strategic relations between our countries, and to take advantage of the experiences available in both our countries. In this context, our meeting comes today to prepare for the work of the Joint High Committee, which resulted in the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding in various fields between the brotherly nations, and which strove to promote bilateral cooperation, and the establishment of a strategic and complementary relationship between the two countries in a variety of fields like security, politics, economy, investment, development, and culture, among others, to achieve the shared interests for the benefit of our two peoples.
Therefore, we commend the depth and strength of bilateral relations between our countries and reaffirm the sincere determination of the State of Qatar to promote and develop the mechanism for rich cooperation, explore new horizons and develop and expand strategic cooperation relations through the implementation of agreements, and the signed memorandums of understanding between the two countries as well as the conclusion of agreements to be signed during the meeting of the Joint High Committee this month.
Ladies and gentlemen,
The security, political, and economic challenges, among others, that the Middle East region and the world are witnessing calls upon us to continue to promote coordination and consultation in facing these challenges, and we express our satisfaction at the convergence of visions between our two countries on international and regional issues. We also reaffirm the continuation of our effective participation in the international and regional efforts to establish international and regional security and stability, combat terrorism and settle disputes in peaceful ways.
In conclusion, the outcome of the meetings of senior officials that were held in Ankara last month were valuable, and I would like to reiterate my welcome and wish this meeting every success and good luck in strengthening relations between our two countries, and accomplishing the shared interests of our brotherly peoples.
