OIC Honours Leaders of Humanitarian Work

Doha/Information Office/18 January 2017/ The Doha-based General Secretariat of humanitarian funds of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held today a UN initiative event to honour the leaders of the humanitarian work, under the auspices of HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.

The event saw the honouring of Dr. Abdullah Maatouq Al Maatouq, Advisor to the Emir of Kuwait who is also Chairman of the International Islamic Charitable Organizations (IICO), and HE Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Muraikhi, the UN envoy for humanitarian Affairs.
The event was attended by the GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Rasheed Khalikov, the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for humanitarian partners as well as representatives from the United Nations and humanitarian sectors, and the Organization of Islamic cooperation, the Arab League and the Gulf cooperation Council. In addition to representatives of a number of the diplomatic corps, international and national organizations related to humanitarian affairs.
On this occasion, HE Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry, delivered a speech on behalf of HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al -Thani, in which he greeted and praised the honored for their efforts in the field of humanitarian work.
