Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Receives Credentials of Qatar's Ambassador Bandar Seri Begawan, January 16 (QNA) - HM Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Sultan of Brunei Darussalam received the credentials of HE Jassim bin Ali Al Obaidli as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam. During the meeting, HE the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to HM the Sultan and HH's wishes of good health and happiness to him, and to the Government and the people of Brunei Darussalam further progress and prosperity. For his part, HM Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah entrusted HE the Ambassador to convey his greetings to HH the Amir, wishing him good health and happiness and the State of Qatar further progress and prosperity. HM also wished HE the Ambassador success in his new duties and in strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam. (
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Praises Qatari-African Cooperation to Support African Migrants
HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani praised the cooperation between the State of Qatar and the African Union in repatriating the irregular migrants in Libya back to their countries and reintegrating them in their communities, in line with the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to launch a special fund to cover the costs of returning the migrants back to their original countries.
Joint Statement of the Second United States-Qatar Strategic Dialogue: Forward Together
The governments of the State of Qatar and the United States held the second Strategic Dialogue in Doha, Qatar on January 13, 2019.  U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo co-chaired the opening session with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.  Senior U.S. officials came to Doha to engage with their Qatari counterparts on numerous aspects of the robust bilateral relationship, including: regional security and defense cooperation, education and culture, law enforcement and counterterrorism partnerships, commercial and energy cooperation, and labor issues.
