Qatar's Diplomatic Missions Celebrate National Sport Day

Qatar's diplomatic, consular and representative missions abroad organized various sporting events on the occasion of Qatar Sport Day amid great participation and interest.

In Canberra, Australia, the embassy's activities were attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Australia Saad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, diplomatic and administrative staff.

The events included competitions in various sports as well as indoor lounge exercises.

In Cairo, the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to the Arab League held sports activities on the occasion of the Qatar Sport Day in the presence of the HE the Deputy Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Hassan Al Mutawa, members of the mission and the staff members of the delegation.

HE the Deputy Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Hassan Al Mutawa said that the national sport day is an important annual event for all Qataris, making sport one of the most important pillars of the National Vision 2030.

He added that the celebration of the Sport Day this year comes in light of the preparations of the State of Qatar to host the World Cup 2022, stressing that the sporting field in the State of Qatar is witnessing a major renaissance at the present time, similar to what is being witnessed in the political, economic and social fields.

The celebration program included a number of sports activities, including football, basketball, volleyball and various sports competitions.

In Singapore, the Embassy of Qatar in the Republic of Singapore celebrated the national sport day with the participation of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Singapore Saoud Jassim Al Jufairi and members of the Embassy.

The celebration program included a number of sports such as running and other sports.

In Sofia, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Bulgaria organized sports events on the occasion of the national sport day. HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Bulgaria Rashid bin Ali Al Khater and embassy staff participated in the events.

In his speech on this occasion, HE the Ambassador affirmed the importance of sport, stressing the need to make it an integral part of daily life.

The celebration program included a number of sports such as walking, running and other competitions. 

In Dushanbe, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Tajikistan organized sporting events on the occasion of the Sport Day.

The events were attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Tajikistan Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Abdullah, members of the embassy and a number of professors and students of Tajik universities.

In a speech, HE Ambassador Al Abdullah stated that Qatar's goal behind this day is to promote sport and make it a way of life.

The events included various sport competitions.

In Colombo, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to Sri Lanka organized sporting events on the occasion of the national sport day.

The event was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Sri Lanka Jassim bin Jabor Jassim Al Suroor, a number of heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Sri Lanka, diplomats and embassy staff, and the Qatar Charity office in Colombo. The events included walking, football, volleyball and tennis.

In Panama, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Panama celebrated the Sport Day, with the participation of a number of ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Republic of Panama. The events included various sport competitions.

In Tbilisi, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Georgia celebrated the Sport Day, as the embassy organized a number of sporting events on this occasion.

In Manila, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of the Philippines celebrated the national sport day, with the participation of Acting charge d'affaire Ali bin Abdullah Al Abdullah, and the staff of the Embassy.

The program included several sports activities, such as football, volleyball, basketball, tennis and badminton, as well as some recreational competitions.

In Naypyidaw, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar organized sport activities on the occasion of the Sports Day, with the participation of the Acting charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Myanmar Mansour bin Mubarak Al Khayarin. The events included tennis and walking sports.

In Mumbai, the Consulate General of the State of Qatar in Mumbai celebrated the Sport Day of the State with the participation the Counsul General Saif bin Ali Al Mohannadi, members of the mission, some heads of Arab and foreign missions, chief protocol officer of Government of Maharashtra, national companies operating in Mumbai, youth of the OSCAR Foundation, and Street Football India.

The program included a number of sports activities, including football.
