Qatari-French Strategic Dialogue Preparatory Meeting Convenes

The Preparatory Meeting for the Strategic Dialogue between the Governments of the State of Qatar and the French Republic was held on Tuesday.

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi chaired the Qatari delegation to the meeting, while HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Maurice Gourdault-Montagne presided the French side.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways of boosting them, in addition to a number of issues of mutual interest, especially in the fields of defense, security, economy, culture, health, and environment.

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs stressed that the Qatari-French strategic dialogue will transfer the historical and strong strategic relations between the two countries to a more advanced stage toward cooperation in various fields.

The signing of the Declaration of Intent on the establishment of a strategic dialogue between the State of Qatar and the French Republic reflects the depth of the close strategic relations between the two countries, he added.

HE the Minister of State welcomed the upcoming visit of HE Prime Minister of the French Republic Edouard Philippe, to Doha at the end of March, hoping that the visits of officials of the two countries will continue to reflect the depth of relations and the desire of both parties to develop them.
