Qatar Participates in the 151st Ministerial Meeting of the Arab League

The 151st session of the meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers Council kicked off on Wednesday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League, chaired by Somalia.

Qatar is participating in the session with a delegation chaired by HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi.

The Council will discuss a number of issues related to Arab joint political, economic, social, cultural and security work, particularly the report of the Secretary General on the activities of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the procedures for implementing the Council resolutions during the time between the 150th and 151st sessions.

The draft agenda of the Arab foreign ministers also includes the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict, a follow up on the political developments of the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict and activating the Arab peace initiative. In addition to the Israeli developments and violations in the occupied Al-Quds, Arab water security, the Israeli theft for water in the occupied Arab territories and the occupied Syrian Arab Golan.

The Arab foreign ministers will review a number of issues on solidarity with Lebanon, developments in the situation in Syria, Libya and Yemen, support for peace and development in Sudan, support for Somalia and support for the Republic of the Comoros and peaceful resolution of the Eritrean-Djibouti border dispute.

The draft agenda also includes the risks of Israeli arms to Arab national security and peace and Arab relations with regional and international groupings.

The draft agenda also includes a number of social and cultural issues, including supporting internally displaced persons in Arab countries and Iraqi displaced persons in particular.
