The State of Qatar stressed that, despite the continued illegal blockade imposed on it and contrary to all humanitarian, legal and religious values and principles, and the failure to provide any evidence of the charges against it, it still believes that dialogue without preconditions is the best solution to the Gulf crisis.

This came in the speech of HE Director of Department of International Organizations Yousef bin Sultan Yousef Laram in the 46th meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation of the member countries, which was held in Abu Dhabi in the UAE.

His Excellency stressed that the State of Qatar stands firmly in the face of extremism and terrorism in all its forms, images and causes. He added that the country plays an active role in all international and regional efforts to combat extremism and terrorism at all levels, including cooperation with international organizations and the United Nations. He also pointed out that the threat of terrorism is striking throughout the world in a flagrant challenge to all humanitarian laws and values, international laws and national legislation.

His Excellency highlighted that this year's meeting is taking place in the face of major crises and increasing challenges facing many Islamic countries at the political, security and economic levels as a result of the continued tension and increasing trends of violence and the increasing phenomenon of terrorism and persecution against Muslim minorities in various parts of the world.

He pointed out that these serious challenges calls on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to increase efforts in enhancing cooperation among its members through unified positions that are far away from divisions and differences.

HE Director of Department of International Organizations said that the continuing crises in some Muslim countries without reaching just and comprehensive solutions was due to the failure of the international community on the one hand, and the double standards in dealing with issues of certain peoples rather than others. He stressed that all parties involved should continue efforts individually and jointly to resolve these crises in accordance with the provisions of international law and international legitimacy.

His Excellency also stressed Qatar's firm stance to support the Palestinian people in obtaining all their legitimate rights, especially its independent state with East Al Quds as its capital on the 1967 borders.

He also reiterated the position of the State of Qatar in support of a political solution that preserves the unity of Syria, Libya and Yemen and respects their sovereignty and independence, and meet the legitimate aspirations of their peoples.
