The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the bombing that targeted a bank in southern Afghanistan's Helmand province on Thursday, leaving scores of people dead or wounded.

In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's firm position rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives or reasons as well as its rejection of criminal acts that destabilize security as well as intimidates and kills innocent people, saying such attacks contradict with humanitarian principles and all divine religions.

The statement expressed Qatar's condolences to the families of the victims and to the Afghan government and people, and wished the injured speedy recovery.
