Embassy of Qatar Delivers Financial Aid to Salvadoran Red Cross Society

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in El Salvador delivered financial aid from the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) to the Salvadoran Red Cross Society (IFRC) in El Salvador, which is intended for purchasing personal protective equipment for medical workers, medical equipment for Salvadoran Red Cross volunteers, and food supplies for families affected by the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) and tropical storms that hit the country.

The delivery of the aid was attended by the representative of the Salvadoran Red Cross Society Dr. Jos Benjamn Ruiz Rodas and the Acting Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of El Salvador Tariq Othman Al Othman.

Dr. Jos Benjamn expressed gratitude to the State of Qatar for this generous donation, which will enable the Salvadoran Red Cross Society to continue its role in assisting the public authorities in alleviating human suffering and protecting the lives and health of people.

The Acting Charge d'Affaires Tariq Othman Al Othman renewed the commitment of the State of Qatar to continue supporting El Salvador in confronting coronavirus, pointing out the importance of joint action and cooperation between countries in order to address this global crisis. He also praised the heroic role and efforts made by the Salvadoran Red Cross Society during the crisis.
